About Maj. Philip Lee Anthony
He married Olive Boone, the Granddaughter of Daniel Boone.
Biography
Maj. Philip Lee Anthony was born on June 17, 1810, in Richmond, Henrico, Virginia, USA. His parents were Maj. James Crenshaw Anthony and Mary Smith Anthony.
Philip first married Olive Anthony, who died young, likely in childbirth. He next married Harriet Borden, who also died young, about a year after they married.
By 1866, he had become a fervent believer in polygamy, publishing a book called "The Marriage Relation, Polygamy and Concubinage, the Law of God and Public Utility." In the 1870 census, he appeared to be living out his dream - he was living with the Cone sisters, Ernestine and Louanna. He even petitioned the Arkansas state legislature to give both of the Cone sisters his last name and designate them his heirs under the law. I do not believe this was granted, because in litigation after Philip's death, Louanna, who was the mother of his son, Philip Jr., is referred to as his wife. Ernestine, however, never took on his surname and went on to marry.
He died on March 3, 1879, in Lonoke, Arkansas, and was buried in Lonoke Cemetery, Lonoke County, Arkansas.. - [Private User]
