About Rabbi Meyer Schwartzman
Maier Schwartzman was born in either Zagorow or Kolo, Poland. He could've been born in Kolo since his birth and death records are located there. However, because his children were from Zagorow, it's possible that Maier was indeed born in Zagorow but it was recorded in the larger town archives in Kolo. He may have been a rabbi like his son, grandson, great-grandson, and great-great-grandson, although this information is only based off of speculation and isn't definitively recorded.
His marraige to Cyrel Schwartzman (nee Kahn) is recorded in the Kolo records. Both his parents and Cyrel's are also documented in the same record, but aside from that there aren't any other records of Maier's parents Rafal and Machla, nor are there records for Cyrel's parents Izrael and Laja. This is either because there aren't any records indexed before Maier's time, or because their parents themselves immigrated from another country to Poland, or because they only just started using last names within the century and therefore it would be impossible to find their parents without their last names.
According to JRI-Poland's Kolo Archives, a Maier Schwartzman passed away in 1893 which is probably accurate as he seems to be the only Maier Schwartzman in the Kalisz Gubernia until the birth of his great-grandson, Rabbi Meyer Schwartzman.
