Biography
Benjamin Davis was born at Boston, Massachusetts on August 17, 1649, son of William and Margaret (Pynchon) Davis. [1] [2] [3] [4]
He married first Sarah Richards by 1680. Sarah was the daughter of James Richards, of Hartford. [5]
After Sarah's death, Benjamin married second Mary Tippet on January 15, 1696/7. [6]
Major Benjamin Davis, apothecary of Boston, died on November 26, 1704. [7]
In December, 1704, his widow Mary refused administration of his estate. [8]
On June 11, 1708, the following heirs of Captain William Davis, submitted a letter to the court regarding administration of their brother Major Benjamin Davis', apothecary of Boston, estate, contesting that the administrators have found many debts of their father in England and have therefore stated that there the heirs have been paid and there is no further money from their father's estate. [8]

Mary Leidget/Ligget, executor to her husband John Davis of ?Phyale to son William Davis to daughter Sarah Davis to daughter Elizabeth Davis [8] His estate inventory was assessed at L2616 1s 26 to which rents accumulated through 1709 were added for a total value of L2951 14s 8d. Among the expenses then deducted including funeral expenses, administrative costs, taxesetc. was also a portion of due to daughter Margaret Davis, from her father Capt. William Davis' estate. [8]
