Margaret Pynchon was born about 1624 at Dorchester, Dorset, England. She married at Springfield, on 6 December 1644, Capt. William Davis of Boston, born about 1620 at Dorchester, Dorset, England. She died on 3 July 1653 at Boston, Suffolk County, Mass. Capt. Davis died 17 May, 1676, at Boston, Suffolk Co., Mass. He was a wealthy and enterprising Boston apothecary, and was chosen deputy from Springfield several times.

Biography

Margaret Pynchon, daughter of William and Anne (Andrew) Pynchon was born about 1624 in England. [1] [2]

She immigrated to New England from Springfield, England, with her parents, in the Winthrop Fleet (1630). The family first settled in Roxbury, Massachusetts Bay [1] but removed to Springfield, Massachusetts in 1636. [2]

Margaret "married in the Bay" December 6. 1644 Capt. William Davis of Boston. [1][3]

Margaret, wife of Lieut. William Davis died 3rd 5th mo. 1653 ( July 3, 1653) in Boston, Massachusetts Bay. [4] [1]

Her father William returned to England, and in his will written at Wrasbury, Buckinghamshire, England on October 4, 1662, he left L10 each to Thomas, Benjamin and William Davis, the children of daughter Margaret Davis, of Boston, deceased. [2] [5]

After her death, her husband William Davis, married Huldah Symmes. [6]

William died on 24 May 24, 1676. [1] He wrote his will on May 17, 1676. In it he left bequests to among others: [7]

sons Thomas, Benjamin, William and John Davis brother Major Jno. Pynchon, was one of the overseers[7] Children
