Major Deacon Moses Belcher

Biography

Moses Bekcher was born at Braintree, Massachusetts, on 16 Dec 1692, the son of Samuel Belcher and Comfort (Harbour) Belcher.[1][2]

Marriages

Moses Belcher married Mary Williams at Boston, Massachusetts, on 20 May 1715.[2][3]

Moses Belcher married the widow Abigail (Beale) Baxter in 1765. An entry in the original vital records of Braintree, Massachusetts, on 9 Feb 1765, is probably that of the marriage intention.[4] J. Gardner Bartlett's 1906 article, "The Belcher Families," inThe New England Historical and Genealogical Register gives the date of the marriage as 23 May 1765, but no other source for this date has been found.[2]

Death

No record has been found of the death of Moses Belcher, and there is no extant probate file. He was living at Braintree, Massachusetts, in 1775.[2]
