Maj Hon Charles Napier, of The Woodlands, Taunton, co. Somerset (b. 24 Oct 1794; d. 15 Dec 1874), mar. (1) 1824 Alice Emma Barnston (d. 16 May 1834), dau. of Roger Barnston, and (2) 2 Jul 1840 Annabella Jane Gatacre (d. 6 Mar 1885), only dau. of Edward Gatacre, of Gatacre, co. Shrewsbury, and had issue by both wives.

Major Hon. Charles Napier was born on 24 October 1794. He was the son of Francis Scott, 8th Baron Napier of Merchistoun and Maria Margaret Clavering. He was baptised on 17 November 1794 at Wilton, Roxburghshire, Scotland. He died on 15 December 1874 at age 80. Major Hon. Charles Napier lived at Woodlands, Taunton, Somerset, England.
