Malcolm MacFarlane of Achray & Drumbouie

MALCOLM MACFARLANE, Though not a native of Skye, deserves to be mentioned. His attraction to the Island was the Gospel and the Lord's people, and he remained in it for a considerable time, first carrying on his trade as a shoemaker at Glen Eynort, Minginish, from which place he was ejected at the Disruption. He then went to reside in Bracadale, where he conducted the religious services for a while. Thence he went to Snizort. He left Snizort and went to Tobermory, Island of Mull. • Notes • 1 - Malcolm also had a share in another farm, Glenfinglas. The Glenfinglas land goes northwards from near Brig o'Turk, then up to the Balquhidder hills. It is land that was possessed by the Duke of Perth, a Drummond. It became part of the Forfeited Lands after the '45.
