About Malcolm McDowell

Actor Malcolm John "Malcolm McDowell" Taylor is known for his disturbingly controversial films If...., O Lucky Man!, A Clockwork Orange, and Caligula. Since then, his versatility as an actor has led to varied roles in films and television series of different genres, including Tank Girl, the television serials Our Friends in the North, Entourage, Heroes, Metalocalypse, the animated movie Bolt, the 2007 remake of Halloween and its sequel, and Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness.

In addition to co-starring in the famous Star Trek Original & Next Generation cross-over motion picture Star Trek VII: Generations (1994) as Captain Kirk's murderer Dr. Soran of the same homeworld as Whoopi Goldberg's popular character Guinan, Malcolm's own nephew Alexander Siddig portrayed the Starfleet Doctor Bashir in the 7-season hit TV series Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (1993-1999); Alexander married his Star Trek co-star Nana Visitor (Commander Kira Nerys), and the pregnancy and birth of their son Django El Tahir El Siddig, Malcolm's grandnephew, was written into the script and depicted in the show.
While it is commonly believed that Alexander and Nana were the first Star Trek franchise celebrity marriage, and/or that their son was the first Star Trek franchise celebrity birth, technically this is incorrect.
In fact, actor Laurence Luckinbill who portrayed Spock's half-brother Sybok in Star Trek V: The Final Frontier (1989) married Lucy Arnaz the daughter of Lucille Ball whose DesiLu Studios produced the original Star Trek TV series in the late 1960s.
To top it off, not only was Majel Barrett a DesiLu actress who went on to marry Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry and played four different major characters throughout the Star Trek franchise,
and not only was DesiLu employee Matt Jefferies the designer of the famous starship U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701, but also,
Desi-Lu Studios was originally founded as The Motion Picture Center by Joe Justman; Lucille ball and her husband Desi Arnaz were friends with him and bought and renamed it, and years later Joe Justman's son, Robert "Bob" Justman, became the assistant director for Desilu's two Star Trek episodes (The Cage and Where No Man Has Gone Before) as well as the associate and supervising producer for the Star Trek and Star Trek: The Next Generation.
