FUNERAL SERVICES HERE TODAY FOR MALINDA SEVERSON Funeral services will be held today for Mrs. Malinda Severson, a resident of Santa Rosa for the past 40 years, who died Wednesday at the age of 80 years following a long illness. Services will be conducted from the chapel at Welti funeral parlors with Rev. Robert Rankin officiating. Interment will follow in I.0.0.F. cemetery. Mrs. Severson was born in Pennsylvania but came to California 63 years ago, settling in Los Angeles. She was the mother of 13 children, nine of whom survive her, as does her husband, N.O. Severson. The children are John M. Parkins of Rio Nido, Mildred C. McMillen of Point Arena, Irena Penry of Petaluma, Mrs. Tamson Mead of El Monte, Joseph M. Parkins of San Francisco, Mrs. Harriet Denton and Moses Parkins of Oakland, Aaron Parkins of Washington and Mrs. Zerviah Graf of Petaluma. A sister, Mary Shade of Illinois, and a brother, Samuel Unger of Idaho, and 20 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren also survive.

Background: Malinda Unger was first married to Orange Hayward Parkins on 23 Jun 1883 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. After his death she was later married to Nels O. Severson.
