About Mamie Owen Tudor-Davies (Mortimer)
Mamie Davies, (née Mortimer), died of cancer in 1917. She married Alan Tudor Davies in 1901 in London. They had three children, Barbara, Audrey and Melville. Her father, Stanley, was a member of the ancient family of Mortimer and the family home was in Eastbourne, Sussex. She had two interesting ancestors. One was John Hamilton Mortimer ARA, a founding member of the Royal academy, the other was William Scott of Raeburn, her great grandfather, who was a first cousin to Sir Walter Scott. She was gifted musically and a good singer of popular songs.
