  • Note that Wikipedia or other sources may say that Manuel was maried to Angela de Menezes. In fact, he was married to Maria Vicente. But, during a trip to Lisbon, he was forced by the royal court to commit bigamy and marry Angela de Menezes. First, he refused, en he was jailed. Finally, he gave in and married Angela de Menezes in februari 1553, but he died 4 days later.
