About Marcel Casadesus
Marcel Casadesus was the son of Luis Casadesus and Mathilde Sénéchal. Casadesus was a teacher and a virtuoso of the cello and the viola da gamba.
He began learning the cello at fourteen at the conservatoire of Paris and was awarded his first prize in 1903. He was a member of the Capet Quartet and of the Society of Ancient Instruments (Société des Instruments Anciens) before he was killed in action during the first world war (Military Cross).
