If interested party will look in 'The Royal Descents of 600 Immigrants' compiled by Gary Boyd Roberts, you will find that Maredudd ap Ieuan Goch's line descends to Anne Lloyd, daughter of George Lloyd, Bishop of Chester.  Anne Lloyd m. first, Thomas Yale and second, Theophilus Eaton, later immigrated to North America and established along with Rev. John Davenport the New Haven Colony of which Eaton became the Governor from 1638 to his death in 1657.  By mid-1660's, the independent New Haven Colony became part of the Colony of Connecticut.

My father Russell Jay Alcott, deceased, was a 9th great-grandson of Anne Lloyd and Governor Theophilus Eaton through their daughter Hannah Jones (Mrs. William Jones). I have approved papers from my father to Anne, and Anne back to Joan of England, daughter of King John and unknown, and Joan's husband Llewelyn 'Fawr'. So I have a lot of primary documentation.
