Major Mareen Lamar is the highest ranking officer killed at the Battle of Paoli. The morning after the battle, 52 fallen American soldiers were buried on the battlefield. It is reasonable to assume that the Major was one of them as there is nothing found that indicates otherwise. He was made an "original member" of the Society of the Cincinnati upon the founding of the society.
