About Maren Louise Larsen(Dahl)
The family bible gives the date of the marriage of N.T.E. and Mary as April 10, 1851, and the name of the provost as Lars Christian Arup. For the parish Mary entered a word that looked like “Gleninge” to the person who transcribed the information. She also entered “Sogn” as part of the place name. As it turns out, there is no Gleninge parish, but "Glemminge" is an old spelling for Glemmen, and Sogn is a district of Copenhagen (as well as the NW fiord part of Norway). Copenhagen expanded to encompass Glemmen, which is close to the Swedish border. The family photos are all from the area, then called Fredrikshald, but now called Halden. The boat they took to Liverpool left from Fredrikstad, a town in Fredrikshald (Halden).
The record from Den Norske Kirke, Glemmen (Batch Number: M426142, dates: 1838-1851, fiche number: 125880) spells Mary's name "Maren Lovise Povlsdr" (Paul's daughter) and N. T. E.'s "Nils Theodor Emil Larsen." It gives the date as April 11, 1851, his age as 25 and hers as 24.
