About Lady Margaret Thorpe
Through Margery's great grandmother, Beatrix Bacon, was directly descended from Grimbald and also Charlemagne through William the Conqueror, from a great grandson of King Henry 1 of England, and two granddaughters of King Henry 1 of France
It is interesting to note that the "Colonial Order of the Crown" recognizes our descent from CHARLEMAGNE, through WILLIAM THE CONQUEROR, HUGH de MESCHINES de KYVELIOCK, 5th Earl Palatine of Chester, BEATRICE BACON, THORPE, MARGERY THORPE, BACON.
Margery THORPE, who through her great grandmother, BEATRICE BACON, wife of SIR WILLIAM THORPE, and daughter of SIR ROGER BACON was descended from HUGH DE MESCHINES DE KYVELIOCK, 5th Earl Palatine of Chester, a great grandson of KING HENRY I of England, and ELIZABETH, daughter of SIR ROBERT DE BEAUMONT and LADY ISABEL DE VERMANDOIS, granddaughter of KING HENRY I of France [Bacon and Allied Families, p. 12].
