Margaret Delight Winsor was a direct decendant of the royal House of Windsor. Her ancestors were decendants of the Dukes of Tuscany, and came from Normandy to England. Walter de Windesore became a warden of the King's forests and was Castellan of Windsor at the time of Edward the Confessor, founder of Westminster Abbey. Walter's son, William de Wyndesore, married Edyth Plantagenet and was knighted by Charles III.
