<p>Michael Berrell arrived on board the convict ship "Mangles" in 1828, in company with his brother Bernard, both being transported for seven years for the crime of "stealing oats". His wife and four children, including Catherine, his daughter, who married Thomas Francis, arrived on the ship "Surry" in 1831. </p>
