Margaret Boyd

Margaret Mason was born c.1725, most likely in Virginia. She married William Boyd about 1743. She died in Bedford County, Virginia in 1776.

Margaret is believed to be the mother of all of William Boyd's children. Some researchers believe that she was not the mother of his first child, Margaret Boyd. As there is no proof found of other parentage for Margaret the daughter, we are listing Margaret Mason as the mother. The circumstantial evidence would seem to back up this decision - the daughter's date of birth and the similar name.
