Biography

Margaret, daughter of James Brown & Margaret, was born on 5 July 1687 in Swansea, Bristol, Plymouth.[1]

She married ____ Carpenter before June 1717 when she was named in her father's will. James Brown of Barrington made his will 28 June 1717, proved 08 May 1719, naming his wife; sons James, William, Benjamin, Isaac; and daughters Mary Angell, Ann Hill, Margaret Carpenter, Dororthy Brown, and Mercy Brown.[2]

With Mr. Carpenter she had a son William who was named in the will of Margaret's mother. Margaret Brown of Barrington made her will 06 Feb 1733/4, proved 18 May 1742, making bequests to the unnamed children of her son James Brown, deceased; unnamed children of her son William Brown, deceased; grandson William Carpenter; unnamed children of her son Isaac Brown, deceased; son Benjamin Brown; Nathan son of her son Benjamin; and her 4 daughters: Mary Angil, Ann Hill, Dorothey Medbury, and Mercy Carpenter.[2]
