MARGARET CHANDLER, 71, died Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2004, at home surrounded by her family.
Born March 16, 1932, in Fort Wayne, she was a gentle, loving wife, mother and grandmother.
She was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church, active in the rosary society, a coordinator for the funeral dinners and a member of the Christ Child Society of Fort Wayne.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, James T. Chandler; six children, Jeanne and Thomas Wagner, Peggy and J. Thomas Chandler of Orlando, Fla., Jerome and Lynn Chandler, Beth Ann and Todd Shanebrook, Michael Chandler, Karen and Edward Hegbli; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Her brothers and sisters, Margann Hampton, Marshall and Charlene Didier, Donald Didier, Jack and Catherine Didier, Carl and Edythe Mary Sands, Helen and John Herber, David and Judy Didier also survive her.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Phyllis Nolan, and brothers, James and Thomas Didier. Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Jude Catholic Church, with calling one hour prior. Calling is also from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at D.O. McComb & Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Ave., with Vigil at 8:30 p.m. Friday. Burial in Catholic Cemetery. Memorials to Parkview Home Health & Hospice, St. Jude Funeral Dinners and Christ Child Society of Fort Wayne.
