About Margaret Elizabeth DAWSON
GEDCOM Note

Things I remember about Aunt Peggy. She had a parrot in her kitchen when I was little, it always talked to us, we thought this was really neat. She was always working in her very large garden. I, Sandy, visited with her whenever I went to Pa. She worked as a janitor for the school that was outside her back door, about 2000 ft. back. One time her and Chick (Caroline), her daughter, were in the basement making sauerkraut the old fashion way. With a board that had a blade, where they stuffed the cabbage into a crock and would put the crock in Aunt Peggy's garage for the winter, so it wouldn't stink the house. Aunt Peggy was a very cheerful lady. (Information from her obituary in the Reading Eagle Newspaper.) Aunt Peggy was employed from 1955 to 1978 as a cook by the Daniel Boone School District in Amily Elememtary Center until her retirement. She was later employed part-time fomr 1978 to 2002 in custodial care at the Amity School building. Other survivors include 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
