About Margaret Margaretha Eckler
There has been considerable disagreement among genealogists concerning the parentage of Anna Margaretha Young. It would seem that both Theobald Young and his brother Henrich had daughters by that name. One of them married Johannes Hess and the other married Hendrick Eckler.
Stone Arabia Lutheran church records indicate that Theobald and his wife Maria Catherina sponsored the baptism of Dewalt (David) Hess in 1753. And he was described as their grandson.
In his notes on the Eckler Family Bible, David Kendall Martin (in updating the research of Hank Jones and Albert Ross Eckler) comes to the conclusion that Margaret Young Eckler was probably the daughter of Henrich and twin sister of Johann Henrich Young, born in Schoharie in January 1716.
