Funeral services for Margaret Kate Gaw, age 86 of Cookeville, will be held on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at 1:00 PM from the chapel of Whitson Funeral Home with burial to follow at Smyrna Cemetery. Visitation will be held today Tuesday, September 30th from 5:00-8:00 pm and Wednesday from 7:00am until time of service.

Mrs. Gaw passed away on Monday, September 29, 2014 at her residence. Margaret Kate Gaw was born on September 30, 1928 in Anderson, TN to the late John and Lenna (Bumgardner) Hankins. She was a homemaker and a member of the Life Church in Cookeville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Owen Gaw; 1 Daughter: Linda Spencer; 1 Son: Melvin Gaw; 2 Brothers: James and William Hankins.

She is survived by two daughters: Linda Parkin of Michigan and Marleen Leigh of Cookeville; Son: Thomas Gaw of Michigan; Two Brothers: John and Robert Hankins both of Knoxville; Sister: Audrey Carroll of Clinton, TN; Eight Grandchildren and Five Great Grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Tom Leigh, Patrick Hankins, Daniel Hankins, Jim Gaw, Tim Sweezey, and Ronald Hankins.
