Oit: DIED Kearns-At her residence in Linn Grove, Iowa, May 2, 1891, Margaret Kearns aged 86 years, 4 months and 10 days. The subject of this notice, whose maiden name was Groughbough was born in Ohio, December 22, 1805; she was united in marriage to John Kearns in 1829, with whom she lived happily for forty-three years. They had nine children, seven of whom are now living. Her grandchidren number fortyseven, and her great grandchildren twenty-six. In 1844 her and her husband became converted to God and united with the Methodist Episcopal church. In 1853 they moved to Linn coungty, Iowa. In 1872 she committed to their last resting place the mortal remains of her loving and devoted husband, and was left a widow to train the surviving children in the way of honor and usefulness and to fight the battles of life alone.
