Margaret Hamner, 66, of Gassaway, died Thursday, Dec. 30, 2004, at the Braxton County Memorial Hospital. She was born July 18, 1938, in Randolph County, the daughter of the late Owen "Peach" McKenzie and Roxie Sines McKenzie.

She was united in marriage on April 3, 1966, to Robert F. Hamner of Gassaway, who survives. She is also survived by her son Robert M. and Mahalia Hamner of Gassaway; granddaughter Laina McKenzie Hamner of Gassaway; three sisters: Mrs. Sed (Rozella) Ezell of Cordele, Ga., Mrs. Charles (Doris) Jones of Martinsburg, W.Va., and Mrs. Danny (Nettie) Lane of Woodbridge, Va.; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Tom and Janet Hamner of Indian Camp, Linda Reaser of Harrisville, Hearlon and Dorothy Radcliff of Buckhannon, Roger and Pat Hamner of Buckhannon, Paul and Elizabeth Hamner of Buckhannon, and Junior and Debbie Hamner of Buckhannon; several nieces and nephews and a host of cherished friends.

Mrs. Hamner was a graduate of the Tennerton Division of Buckhannon-Upshur High School, Class of 1957.

Friends will be received today, Jan. 3, 2005, at the Tomblyn-Whitescarver Funeral Chapel from 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2005, at the funeral chapel with the Rev. Wease Day officiating.

The burial will follow at the Rock Cave Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Diabetes Foundation.

Tomblyn-Whitescarver Funeral Chapel of Buckhannon is in charge of the arrangements.
