About Margaret Evelyn Hartley
Margaret Evelyn Hartley, daughter of Jonathan and Rebecca Hartley, was born in Fulton county, Illinois on March 5, 1858 and passed away at her home in Utica, Nebraska on June 4, 1939 at the age of 81 years, 2 months and 29 days.
At the age of 18 she was united in marriage to George W. Aringdale. To this union 11 children were born. One son and two daughters have preceded her in death. Surviving are: Mrs. John Hohnbaum of Utica, Ormal H. of Morse Bluffs, Nebr., Mrs. R. D. Inbody of Shelton, Washington, Grover C. of Waco, Chester A. of Utica, George E. of Winner, South Dakota, Mrs. George Wolffe of Oswego, New York and Mrs. Charles Lovell of Columbus, Nebraska; 25 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren, 2 sisters and 2 brothers.
With her husband and five children, she moved to Nebraska in February 1886, locating near Dorchester, three years later moving to York County. For the past 22 years she has resided in Utica. In 1902 she was united with the Christian Church of Waco. With fear and heartbreak she she saw two of her sons leave to serve in the World War, Grover going overseas.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. at the Christian Church at Waco with Rev. G. R. Miller in charge. Burial was made in the Waco Cemetery.
