Margaret Hay married William Borthwick, 4th Lord Borthwick, son of Sir William Borthwick, 3rd Lord Borthwick, in 1491.[1],[3]

She is the daughter of John Hay, 1st Lord Hay of Yester and Elizabeth Cunningham.[1],[2]

From 1491, her married name became Borthwick.[4]

Note that Burke's shows Margaret as the wife of William Borthwick, 3rd Lord Borthwick, and mother of William, 4th Lord.[4]
