About Margaret Katherine Hodge
Margaret Katherine Hodge, 90, of Fort Collins, CO passed away on Monday, November 1, 2004 at Fort Collins Good Samaritan Village, CO. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, November 4, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 2000 Stover Street, Fort Collins. The Reverend Dr. Harold R. Warren will officiate. Cremation will be completed.
Katherine Sawyer was born on October 5, 1914 in North Platte, NE, the first of three children born to Leon Clifford and Maude Elizabeth (Loudon) Sawyer. She moved to Chicago, IL during the depression, attended Thornton Junior College and worked at Sachs Fifth Avenue. Katherine married John Stuart Hodge and lived in Fox Lake, IL until 1982, when they moved to Fort Collins. She earned her bachelors degree from Northern Illinois University and taught elementary school in Fox Lake Elementary School for many years. She was active in church activities at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, volunteered at the Northern Colorado Alzheimer’s Association and the Lincoln Center. She enjoyed the City Park Lady’s 9 Hole Golf League and traveled extensively.
Katherine is survived by her two sons, Dennis and David Hodge of Fort Collins, CO and her daughter Karen Rawson of New Bern, NC, sister, Betty Lou Joy of Dayton, OH and eight grandchildren, as well as ten great grandchildren.
