About Margaret Jarvis

Margaret Thompson was born to John Thompson/Margaret Gilbert in Baltimore County, Maryland on September 6, 1762. She married William Jarvis on August 24, 1780 in Harford County, Maryland. They then moved to western Maryland and Kentucky in the mid 1790's. They eventually settled near Falmouth, Kentucky. They reared 9-10 children- Sarah, Elizabeth, Eliza J.(?), Parker N., James, Malinda, Gilbert, Susannah, Margaret, and Harvey. After William's death in 1823 (Falmouth), Margaret lived with her daughter Sarah(Grant County), her son Parker N.(Louisville), and finally with her daughter Malinda in Ripley County.
