Her mother Mary Margaret Mim was married successively to two brothers of the Wambach family, the first to George Alfred Wambach, Sr. and after he died to the second, George Geiger (born Wambach). Sometimes people assume incorrectly that both brothers are same person, perhaps because they have the same first name. Hence, her birthdate is constrained by the 1st husbands death date in 1886 and next earliest born sibling, Ruth A. Geiger, in 1890, Otherwise. She sang opera, probably professionally. After all, Geiger is the German trade name of a violinist or someone who is involved with violins.
Margaret Joanna (Geiger) Bliss is the maternal Grandmother of Floyd Bliss Hanson. During the summer of 1939, she and the family of her youngest daughter Violet Ellen (Bliss) Hanson toured much of the United States in her car before moving out to Long Island from Brooklyn. She died in her daughter Violet's house in Babylon, LI, New York.
So since she was 20 years old when she was married to Leon Bliss in 1898, she must be the daughter of George Alfred Wambach, Sr., but her step-father would have given her away at the wedding, since Wambach was long dead. In the 1900 US Census for Holyoke, Massachusetts, she is listed as being 21 and her son George is listed as 1.
