About Margaret Johnson
It is believed that Margaret Johnson was the aunt of Robert Johnson, lutenist and composer. He was a musician in Shakespeare's company and was later a musician in the court of King Charles I.
She did not marry Baptista because he had a living wife in Italy. Baptista apparently lived with a woman without being married to her, as he describes her in his will as 'Margaret Bassany alias Johnson, my reputed wife'.
