"Margeret Linton of Hamilton Parish in Prince William co, widow, for consideration me unto moving, and for settling and disposing of several Negro slaves, for the advantage and preferment of my son-in-law, Moses Quarles of the same parish and county after my death for preventing of questions and controversies that might arise amongst my children to Moses Quarles one negro man slave named Pompey, one negro woman named Kate and three negro boys slaves named Notley, Harry and Will for consideration of 30 lbs sterling Margarett Linton shall have and enjoy the benefit and labour of all the said negro slaves during the term of her natural life and may give or sell of any children to be born of the said negro Kate during the said Margeret Linton's natural life after her dec. Jane Quarles daughter of the said Moses Quarles by Seth his wife shall have the said Negro boy slave named Harry, in case said Jane Quarles shall happen to die before her age of 16 years or marriage, then Moses Quarles to have said negro boy Harry to his proper use Margeret Church the daughter of Robert Church by Mary his wife shall have said Negro boy named Will in case Margeret Church shall happen to died before she marries or if said Moses Quarles shall on her day of marriage deliver to said Margeret Church one negro girl or woman of the same age as the said negro Will shall then be of in lien and exchange of the said Will and Moses Quarles shall have the said Negro Will to his own proper use.
