About Margaret Lucinda Macy

Margaret Lucinda George was born during the birth of the nation itself, in a sense. Her birth certificate says she was born in "Indian Territory," a place detailed in the 1900 Census, while later records from her marriage and the birth of her children call the place "Mansfield, Arkansas" or "Wagoner, Oklahoma." Like her life, the nation itself was still developing.

(Records conflict for her middle name as well. Birth certificates for both children say "Lucile," but her own says "Lucinda." Either she changed it, or simply decided the shorter version suits her better.)

Margaret was born into an enormous family, quite common at the time.
