Margaret Mallory

Inquisition Post Mortem for Margaret who was the wife of Robert Corbet of Moreton Corbet, Esquire. Writ. 6 February 1439. She died on 26 January last [1439]. Roger Corbet is son and next heir of Robert and Margaret, and aged 24 years and more.

John Burley (d. 1415/16) was the guardian of the underage Robert Corbet and obtained permission 14 Oct. 1399 to arrange his marriage from Thomas Percy, earl of Worcester. It is highly probable that he promptly married him to his own daughter Margaret. (This was exactly the sort of thing that nobles and gentry did when they had an underage ward and a marriageable child of comparable age on their hands.)

Robert Corbet's widow, Margaret, married Sir William Mallory of Papworth St. Agnes....
