About Margaret Easton-Miller

Margaret was the daughter of Adam Fife and Helen Sharp. She joined the LDS (Mormon) Church in Scotland and emigrated to America with family members. In 1849 in St. Louis, Missouri, she married John Easton after his first wife Agnes Anne Mitchell died in the St. Louis cholera epidemic in the summer of 1849 along with daughters Elizabeth and Barbara.

Margaret and John had at least two children: John Miller Easton born Dec. 16, 1850, and Helen "Ellen" Easton born Oct. 7, 1853. After her first husband John Easton died in 1853, Margaret married David MILLER on Feb. 7, 1854 in Salt Lake City, Utah Territory. They had 9 children: Charles Adam, a baby who died before 1860, Margaret Agnes, Mary Jane, Sarah Elizabeth, Martha Ann, Catherine Jennette, David James, and William Archibald MILLER.

In the 1900 census, Margaret indicated that she had borne 11 children, 9 of whom were still living.
