Her father is uncertain. Her mother Catarina Brecht (Catherine Bright) apparently married a Yount man before Margaret was born in 1809. Her mother then remarried to John Lefler about 1811 and had several Lefler children with him. Daughter Margaret was adopted by Lefler but was not his natural child. In 1828 Rush County Indiana, John Lefler is shown as guardian of minor Margaret on a probate document concerning Margaret as heir of Henry Yount deceased in October 1828. This raises issues. Was Henry Yount her grandfather? Father? If Henry was her father, then the remarriage of her mother Catharine to Lefler in 1811 beccomes an issue. Was there a divorce? The whole seqence is unclear.
