NOTES (2) Name is given as Margaret Corrigan, born Sligo, Ireland, on her son's (George Henry Russell) death certificate. Parents given as Patrick & Catherine Corrigan on her own death certificate. Name on marriage record is Margaret Crary. Marriage witness, James Crary, is most probably her brother, James Corrigan. Death notice, "The Detroit News" Jan. 29 & 30, 1898: "RUSSELL Jan. 27, at her late residence, 279 Fifth street, Margaret A., a relict of the late Reuben W. Russell, and mother of William, George H., Reuben J., Simon, Frank H. and Albert B. Russell. Funeral from residence Monday, Jan. 31, at 8:30 a.m. and at Holy Trinity Church at 9 o'clock."

Margaret Corrigan Russell was the daughter of Patrick Corrigan, Sr. and Rose Folun and the wife of Reuben W. Russell. Margaret, along with her brother James, emigrated from Ireland to America in 1844. Her father, Patrick, Sr., and brother, Patrick, Jr., followed them to America two years later. The two siblings, Margaret and James, married two siblings, Reuben and Leath, from the John Russell family. According to the 1880 census Margaret was unable to read or write. From Detroit News, Jan. 29 and 30, 1898: "RUSSELL, Jan. 27, at her late residence, 279 Fifth street, Margaret A., a relict of the late Reuben W. Russell, and mother of William, George H., Reuben J., Simon, Frank H. and Albert B. Russell. Funeral from residence..."
