Margaret St. John

Margaret Waldegrave was a daughter of William Waldegrave and his wife Margery Wentworth. By 1521 she married John St John.

William Walgrave wrote his will in 1524. In it he mentions his daughter Jane [nun], his wife Margaret, 3 sons; George, William & Anthony, George's wife Anne, daughter Dorothy & her husband John Spring, his son [in-law] Saint John, daughter Elizabeth, William Waldegrave-son of my son George,

Margaret Waldegrave is often said to have died in April 1564, but she must have died before the 1st April 1558, because Sir John St John, in his will of that date, describes his wife as "Anne". [She is said to be Anne Neville & possibly the mother of the 4 "natural" children included in his will. ]

The testatrix’s sister, Margaret Waldegrave, appears to have predeceased her. Margaret Waldegrave married Sir John St John (b. before 1495, d. 19 December 1558) of Bletsoe, Bedfordshire, by whom she had two sons, Sir Oliver St John (d. 21 April 1582), 1st Baron St John of Bletsoe, and John St John, and four daughters: Margery St John, who married firstly Henry Grey, esquire, and secondly Francis Pigott, esquire; Anne St John, who married Richard Dennis; Margaret St John, who married firstly William Gostwick, esquire, and secondly Francis Russell, 2nd Earl of Bedford; and Alice St John, who married Edmund Elmes, esquire. Margaret WALDEGRAVE [Parents] 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 was born 1491 in Smallbridge, Bures St. Mary, Suffolk, England. She married Sir John St. JOHN Knight on 1513 in Bletsoe, Bedfordshire, England.

They had the following children:
