Mannocks or Manax.

On April 1, 1669 Gideon purchased more than 100 acres of land from Edward Lunn known as Golden Quarter. Later Gideon purchased more land which he named "Tilghman's Adventure, Tilghman's Care, Small Hopes, Dales Adventure and Gideon's Luck" He owned more than 1000 acres of land in Somerset County, Maryland which he acquired between 1682 and 1720.

Margaret Manax married Gideon Tilghman (of nearby land to John Robins' Late Discovery) in 1681 (from the Tilghman family history) who was probably Hugh Jr.'s sister.
