Margaret Shaw, dau of Roger Shaw, was baptized in Gawsworth, Cheshire, England, 4 July 1626.
The family came to New England where they first settled at Cambridge, Massachusetts by 1638. [1]
Margaret married Thomas Warde by 1651, when their daughter Elizabeth was born at Hampton, New Hampshire. [1] Thomas born about 1620, one of the early settlers of Hampton, is speculated to be the son of Francis and Susanna (Browne) Ward, of Filby, Norfolk, England and later of Great Yarmouth. [2]
She may have been Thomas' second wife, as Thomas was directed by the court in 1651/2, to 'bring his wife home from England'. [2]
Margaret (Shaw) Ward migrated to New England during the Puritan Great Migration (1620-1640).

Margaret Shaw, daughter of Roger and Ann (___) Shaw, was baptized at Gawsworth, Cheshire, England on July 4, 1626. [1]
In her father, Robert Shaw's will, written on August 25, 1660, he names his daughter Margaret Ward, among others. [1]
Her husband Thomas died between June 18, 1678, the writing of his will and July 27, 1680, the date of his inventory. [1] [2] [3]
In his will, Thomas names:
- wife Margaret
- son Thomas, when he reaches age 21
- daughter Hannah Ward daughter Elizabeth, wife of John Mason
- daughter Mary, wife of John Dearborn son-in-law John Dearborn (co-executor with Margaret)

Margaret died at Hampton, New Hampshire on April 15, 1704. [1]
