John Werle and Margaret (Kuenzer) Werle were married in Germany, and came to America in 1849 with children Martin and Agnes. They settled first, in Cleveland Ohio, and two years later in Port Washington, Wisconsin. In 1872 John and Margaret moved their family to Pierport, MI. At that time their youngest child Katherine was approximately 10 years old.
