He [Christopher Woodward] was a large landowner in Virginia, both his own land as well as land for transporting colonists. In 1636, he acquired two tracts of land along the Appomatox River, a tributary of the James River, near Charles City:[8]
His heir was Samuel Woodward, his son by his first wife, who inherited his property by 1650. He also probably was the father of George Woodward by Dorothy.[10] [11]
