Margaret Woodward

He [Christopher Woodward] was a large landowner in Virginia, both his own land as well as land for transporting colonists. In 1636, he acquired two tracts of land along the Appomatox River, a tributary of the James River, near Charles City:[8]

• 350 acres (8 Mar 1636) 50 acs. for his own per. adv., 50 acs. for the per adv. of his late wife Margarett Woodward & 50 acs. for the per. adv. of his now wife Dorothy Woodward, & 200 acs. for trans. of 4 pers.[9]
• 600 acres (24 Aug 1637); 450 acs. by transfer of nine headrights plus renewal of patent 8 Mar 1636 150 acs. for himself, and both wives[9]

His heir was Samuel Woodward, his son by his first wife, who inherited his property by 1650. He also probably was the father of George Woodward by Dorothy.[10] [11]
