King Teobaldo I & his third wife had six children:

4. MARGUERITE de Champagne, Infanta doña MARGARETA de Navarra ([1240]-3 Oct 1307, bur église des Précheresses, Nancy). The marriage contract between “Ferris dux de Lorraine et marchis” and “Thiebaut...Roy de Navarre et de Champaigne et de Brie conte palatin et...Marguerite sa femme...Marguerite la fille à dict Roy” is dated 10 Jul 1255[650]. She renounced her rights over the county of Champagne shortly after her marriage, renewing the declaration 20 Mar 1273[651]. The testament of “Ferris duc de Lorregne et marchis”, dated 1297, bequeathes property to “Marguerite ma femme...Ferri mon fils de Plommieres...Jean mon fils de Toul...mon anée fille Isabéez...Thibaut me fils...Catherine ma fille...”[652]. She founded the convent of the Clarissans at Neufchâteau in 1297. m (contract 6 Jun 1249, 10 Jul 1255) FERRY III Duke of Lorraine, son of MATHIEU II Duke of Lorraine & his wife Catherine van Limburg (early 1240-31 Dec 1302, bur Beaupré Abbey).

Frederick III (French: Ferry) (1240 – 31 December 1302) was the Duke of Lorraine from 1251 to his death. He was the only son and successor of Matthias II and Catherine of Limburg. He was not yet thirteen years of age when his father died, so his mother assumed the regency for a few years. In 1255, he married Margaret, the daughter of King Theobald I of Navarre and Margaret of Bourbon.[1]

By his marriage to Margaret,[1] he had the following issue:

  1. Theobald (1263–1312), his successor in Lorraine
  2. Matthias (died 1282), lord of Beauregard
  3. Frederick (died 1299), bishop of Orléans (1297–1299)
  4. Frederick (died c. 1320), lord of Plombiéres, Romont, and Brémoncourt
