About Margaretta Roome

Margaret Holfroft/Houlcroft was a daughter of Margaret [nee Saunders, previously Marsack] and her second husband John Houcroft.

She had several sons while in a relationship with William Roome, although, for reasons unknown, she did not marry him. She referes to herself as a Spinster in her will and leaves the guardianship of he children to her half brother Charles Marsack.

It is apparently the descendants of her illegitimate sons who claim that their maternal grandmother was the Countess de Marsack & the father of her children was Frederick, Prince of Wales [rather than her two husbands Charles Marsac & John Houlcroft]. There is no evidence for these claims.
