John Bassett, with his wife Margery, located in New Haven, Connecticut in 1642/1643. He was sometimes called "Old Bassett" in the records. He, with his son, Robert, was a committee to repair the fence and gate towards the farms, 18 Aug 1645. "Old Bassett" and Henry Peck were appointed by the town to set the great guns. John Bassett and Robert, his son, were appointed a committee to repair the meeting house.
Listed in Margery Bassett's will are her son Robert Bassett, Mrs. John Webb, Mrs. John Emery, and Elizabeth Bassett.
