About Margery Peacock
With her husband having died on the voyage over, Margery and her children landed in Boston, MA in 1638. She later settled in Rowley, MA. She lived the last years of her life in Taunton, MA at the home of her son, George [Compendium of American Genealogy, Vol. 5, p. 657].

Edward(1J was born in March, 1606, at Leigh, Surrey, England, ..the .son .of. Rev. Edward Shove and his wife, Margaret • He received his BA and MA degrees from Kings College, Cambridge in 1629. An associate of the Rev. Ezekiel Rogers of Yorkshire, Edward Shove and his family emigrated to New England on the ship, The Welcome,in 1638. A deadly disease befe,ll this ship and Rev. Edward(1 )shove was among its victims. He was buried at sea in May of 1638. He had married, ca. 1629, Dame Margaret Sandys, sister of Henry Sandys,the owner of The Welcome • His widow raised her two children at Rowley, Mass., the settlement organiz~d *on 6/17/1654 by Rev. Rogers, and she later married Richard Peacock~f Boston, in 1654. Born around 1606, Margery Sandys Shove Peacock outlived her second spouse a~ct)died 4/17/1680 at the home of her son, the Rev. George\ 2 Shove, in Taunton, Mass. Their two children were both born in Surrey,England: a. Elizabeth Shove, b. 1630, d. 8/8/1711,at Braintree, Mass. She m. 5/26/1653 John Mills Jr., of Braintree. GEORGE( 2 )SHOVE (610-01-01,610-13-02,210-13-02) Born around 1634 in England,*he completed his studies at Harvard College in 1650. He became the third minister of the church in Taunton, Mass. He was well regarded and acquired large land holdings in Bristol County, interests in Taunton iron making and other undertakings. His death occurred in Taunton on 4/21/1687. He married three times:

- (1) To Hopestill Newman, d. of the Rev. Samuel Newman of 166~ Rehobeth, Mass., author of the Concordance of the Bible. George Shove may have helped Rev. Newman in writing the Concordance. Hopestill was b. 11/29/1641, Weymouth,Mass. and d. 3/7/1673-4. (2) To widow Hannah Bacon Walley, the wife of Thomas Walley, Jr., who died 1672, the s. of Thomas Walley Sr., the pastor of the church at Barnstable. Hannah was the d. of Nathaniel Bacon and Hannah Mayo, b. 9/4/1643, Barnstable,Mass. She d. in Sept. 1685. Her m. date to Rev. George Shove was 2/18/1674-5. (3) Widow Sarah Farwell, former wife of Thomas, one of the original settlers of Taunton. She m. George Shove 12/8/1686, so his death the following April only gave them a few months together. b. Elizabeth Shove, b.8/10/1666. She m. Malachi Halloway, s. of William H. Halloway of Taunton. They left descendants.
