About Margery Mageria de Pembrugge
Portions of Hansen's footnote 694 on pages 121-2 [The Genealogist, v#7-8, 1986-7] are worth quoting: "the Editor called my attention to an entry in Wrottesley, Pedigrees, note 632, 13:34 (1897). This reference, citing De Banco, Mich. 3 Richard II [1379], Shropshire, records that Ralph Lyngeyn, Kt., and Marjory, his wife, and Laurence Hauberk and Margaret, his wife, sued Richard, Earl of Arundel for the manor of Bukenhulle. The annexed pedigree shows Roger de Cheyne, living 2 Edward III [1328/9], husband of Margery, by whom he was father of Roger, who married Isolda, by whom he was father of Marjory, wife of Ralph Lyngeyn, Kt., and of Margaret, wife of Laurence Hauberk. As Ralph Lyngane, named as M.P. of co. Hereford in 1373, was son of John, and as the wife of his son Ralph is known to be Jane, daughter of John Russell, Morris, note 612, 4:319, it is clear that Marjory, daughter of Roger and Isolda de Cheyne, is the same person as Margeria wife of Ralph Lyngane and mother of Isabel."
