About Margret Alice Ford

FUNERAL SERVICES FOR MRS. JOHN FORD

Funeral services over the remains of Mrs. Margaret Alice Ford who died suddenly at Salt Lake last Wednesday, were held at the Third ward chapel last Sunday afternoon, under the direction of Bishop Anderson.

The speakers were A.M. Anderson of Sigurd and William Buchanan of this city, two very dear friends of the decedent. Both speakers spoke in the highest terms of Mrs. Ford, commending her as a mother, a friend and a neighbor whose life had been filled with good works. The music was by the ward choir and solos were sung by Naomi Heppler and Mrs. Wm. Owens.

Bishop Anderson also paid tribute to Mrs. Ford for her many admirable qualities that characterized her. Mrs. Margaret Alice Ford was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles M. Ahlstrom of Cedar City and was born in that place on April 17, 1872. She was married to John Ford at St. George on January 10,1893. They moved to Venice, this county, in 1899 and have been well known residents of the county since that time. She is survived by her husband and eight children, Sarah, Mrs. Hattie Johnson, Lavar, Ireta, Devon, Vera, Thelma and Clare the youngest child, who is 4 years old.

She also leaves five brothers and one sister, Magnus Ahlstrom of California, David, Alonzo, Byron and Dan Ahlstrom of St. George. All of her brothers were present at the funeral except Magnus, and all of Mr. Ford's brothers and sisters from Cedar City and Kanarra were here.
