Born into a family with very little financial resources, Marguerite has lived to embrace Nelson Mandela's words that "Education is the most powerful weapon that you can use to change the world". She grew up in Water House in Kingston, Jamaica and received her earliest schooling from her paternal grandmother who was the founder and principal of the first Basic School in Water House. Her grandmother was her role model and this is what inspired Marguerite to become a teacher. At age six, the extremely pusillanimous girl discovered that she had a beautiful singing voice but her humble beginnings and introverted personality at the time, militated against her unearthing that talent independently in a public space.

Schooled later on at the prestigious Wolmer's Girls' School, her passions for writing and for Literature in general were heightened by the impact of her English teacher, Mrs. Anne Girvan and Marguerite knew without a shadow of a doubt, that she wanted to be a teacher of English and Literature. She sought after that dream when she entered Shortwood Teachers' College after her years in high school. It was in college that she metamorphosed into a bubbling people-oriented, extroverted person whose vivacity has led to multiple accomplishments. A graduate of the University of The West Indies; Marguerite holds a BA degree, with a Major in Literatures in English and a minor in Philosophy. She is currently pursuing a Masters programme in Educational Administration with The University of Phoenix, Arizona, USA and it is her dream to one day own her own school.

Much to the shock and disapproval of her family, Marguerite started a modeling career during her years in College and she soon graced the covers/pages of magazines, newspapers, calendars, and later, the television screen when she appeared in commercials (which include ads for Lasco and for the Aids Campaign in 2006). It was on the stage that she was most alive but after the birth of her second child, she gave up modeling all together but vented her talent and her love for the stage through her subsequent involvement in various performing arts groups. She has a raw acting talent which gained her lead role in the Dec 2004 production of "Elishia Moneybags" held at St George's College's auditorium, and led to her becoming a member of Nexus Performing Arts. She has appeared in a number of performances all across the parishes of Jamaica and has also appeared on "Smile Jamaica"- TVJ in Dec 2005 after Nexus' annual concert season. Among her most satisfying experiences, the writing and directing of a full-length play called "This Is My Story" has helped her to realize her full potential in the dramatic arts. This play was staged at Jamaica College in Summer of 2006, while she was a teacher at the school.

Marguerite believes that she has two personalities-one is the stickler for discipline who was raised in a rigid Christian home and the other is dominated by her Piscean free spirit that sometimes cause her to be unorthodox. For her, each personality is tantamont to the other despite the fact that not many persons can quite accept this. She currently resides in the Turks and Caicos Island after having accepted a teaching offer there, in 2007.
